Al's Song 02:34
If i was a bird, I would fly away I don't know where, don't know when All I know, I gotta get out of this place, Before my mind fills up with anger and hate You keep holding on to me every time I try to let go, You keep holding on to me every time I try to leave, You keep holding on to me every time I try to let go, You keep holding on to me every time I try to leave, If i was a bird, I would fly away But I don't know if I'd see the day, All I know, I gotta get out of this cage, Before my mind fills up with anger and hate You keep holding on to me every time I try to let go, You keep holding on to me every time I try to leave, You keep holding on to me every time I try to let go, You keep holding on to me every time I try to leave, Whoah, oh... You keep holding on to me every time I try to let go, You keep holding on to me every time I try to leave, You keep holding on to me every time I try to let go, You keep holding on to me every time I try to leave,

Hear Me Now 03:01
Hey, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, Say a wha- w- w- wa, say a wha- w- w- wa, Why won't you listen to me? I said, why won't you listen to me? I said, why, Why won't you listen? And your lips fall open and you ask me something, but you lost all your rhythm and you don't know how, beating with the beats is the only way I'll be, Gonna rock it to the sky, and down to the gang, And i'll show you all the beautiful things that I find, Cause i'm gonna grow up and be a man some day But I do what I can and I do what I do, And I do a na-na-na-na things back to you But I'm never gonna be a man droping off I'm never gonna be a man begging on my knees and I'm never gonna do all the things that you ask, cause i'm gonna grow up and be a man some day why won't you listen to me? i said, why, why, why won't you listen to me? So why won't you listen to me? I say, Why? Why won't you listen? Why won't you listen to me?

If you want me, come and get me, If you don't, then you don't If you want me, come and get me, If you don't, then you won't If only if you want to, x5 Hold my breath, dive right in Cause i'm going nowhere If you love me, come and get me, If you don;t then you don't If only if you want to, x5 Hold my breath, dive right in Cause i'm going nowhere x2 If only if you want to, x5 Cause, If you love me, come and get me, If you don;t then you don't.

big Picture 03:19
If you'd seen what I see and I'd seen what you saw, Then the problem in half would be a problem no more, But that ain't the case, Nothing seems to change, From this misunderstanding where everyone's right causing tempers ad tension, the future's not bright But that ain't the case, A simple mistake Break this silence, let's leave this misery, Break this silence, please don't break me. Whoah, oh, whoah, oh, Just hold on a minute and take a step back, See the big picture, Oh, oh, its time to relax now don't hold yourself back, I really miss you. It's a foregone conclusion that it's all my fault kept the realisation in with some doubt, but that ain't the case, nothing seems to break Break this silence, let's leave this misery, Break this silence, please don't break me. Whoah, oh, whoah, oh, Just hold on a minute take a step back, See the big picture, Oh, oh, its time to relax now don't hold yourself back, I really miss you. Just hold on a minute, as far as I know... There's nothing in the way.

about

..." Originally released in 2010 by 'the BBC' (Bill and Ben's Chinese takeaway) in ELM (Extremely Limited Numbers), this was the first audio release by Acoustic Surf-Folk outfit 'Under the DriftWood Tree' (UDWT).

Recorded during their "Maida Vale Sessions" in the famous Maida Vale Studios in London where artists such as the Beatles, Eminem, and "everyone under the Sun" have previously recorded.

Nine years later, UDWT have finally unearthed an original copy or two, with the help of some fans.

Back in 2012, Chris Stoodley had taken all 6 remaining original copies for a joyride on the waves in West Wales, and, well, that was that.

Until one day in June '19, a great big wave came along and washed up a CD onto the shores of Carew, Pembrokeshire, where a couple of lucky UDWT fans could not beleive their eyes. It's the lost Maida Vale recordings!

The tracks have undergone a minimalistic 2019 remastering at Amped in'Sain studios, (i.e. we washed away the salt water and amoebae, and prised off that stubborn limpet) and here they are, finally available to the general public, for everyone who didn't get their hands on a copy back in the day!

This album comes complete with a bonus track; their 2010 interview with Fearne Cotton of the BBC."

***DISCLAIMER: This is not actually the original 2010 "BBC Introducing" album. We couldn't find a copy. Instead, they're as close as we could get, recorded in Wales in 2019.***
